Happy Valentine's Day to me!


Sooooo the hubs and I are supposed to go out to dinner tonight and so I decided to look through my closet as to what to wear! Well I couldn't find anything so I decided to risk checking out my "smaller" clothes that I store in Cailey's closet. OMG!!! I fit into pre pregnancy clothes that haven't fit in AGES!!! YAY!!!

It feels amazing to be doing something for myself and following through with it! Its really hard to make this early morning wake up calls to go to the gym but I am thrilled that I have followed through with it!

For all my friends out there that are overweight and or would like to get back in the gym but can not find the strength to do so, I hope that my blog helps you!

This past week I have woke up at 5 -6am every morning to hit the gym and then Zumba on Saturday! I took a break on Sunday and made sure to get up bright and early for Monday's workout! If I can do it friends and family... so can you!

50lbs to Date!


So I know you havent heard from me in forever! I am doing great I swear it! I took a break from the gym for a little and now I am back and going at it! I am doing great! My goal is to lose another 50lbs before my Birthday July 24th! Yay! I can do it!!! Im having a little trouble getting under 180 right now but that has to be because I havent been working out to my full potential!

About a month and a half ago I started Zumba and I absolutely LOVE IT! I recommend it especially if you have NEVER tried it! My friend Julie teaches the class and she does an AMAZING job! (ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR JULIE!!!) It makes me sad to think of Julie leaving Feb 2012 from the island! She kicks our butt in class! I think we burned over 700 calories on Monday! I fear when she moves and I have to go to another person's class.... Oy Vey!

So I started about June 1st eating differently and working out and by November 1st I had lost 50lbs. Yeah... I am still at the same weight... But.. GOOD NEWS!!! I havent gained it all back! I have stayed here and thats important for me to know that I can keep myself stable and still eat not so great food every once in awhile. (If you know me you know that my husband and I are addicted to Coco's Curry House.) So eating that SURELY does NOT help my diet! Monday night was my last night of Coco's for a long while....

In addition to recent news in my life we are trying to find a house off of base! YAY!! Thats exciting for me as I am now comfortable with the idea of leaving my comfort zone of base.... When we first got here I was like HELL NO am I leaving base and now its all I can think about. Sure there are times when I question if its the smartest thing.. but I think it will make me happier in the long run! I think the more happy I am the easier it will be for me to focus on my weight loss.

Well I guess I better end this so I have a little mommy time before the munchkin wakes up! I am back and better than ever so please continue to read my posts!

Loving the gym!

So I have decided that I absolutely LOVE working out but I HATE waking up to go! I feel so amazing when I work out and love to start my day with a great workout. It puts me in a great mood all day. If I don't get a chance to go to the gym in the morning I have noticed that I am sluggish throughout the day and don't want to do much. The days I go to the gym I am up and moving, showered, laundry done, breakfast made... I feel great! My weight loss is going great and I am loving seeing the numbers go down on the scale! My mom comes to Okinawa in 20 days and I am super excited!!! I cant wait for her to see all the hard work I have done to lose this weight!

On a side note... cant believe I am about to turn 27 years old .... Oh man closer to that 30 mark... YIKES!!!

So today when I was working out at the gym the news showed a new burger that a company named 'Friendlys' came up with. It was two grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns on a regular hamburger with all the fixings! This massive sandwich has 1980 calories and 83 grams of fat! No wonder America is the most overweight country! I can not even imagine eating that thing!! I seriously was grossed out to see this sandwich. While they worked on that story they also shared that 9 out of 10 Americans eat more Salt than they should. Did you know that you are only supposed to eat 2 Teaspoons in your day?

Well for all of you that are using this as your motivation keep at it! I'm working hard at my goals and I know you can do it too! I'm actually having a blast at the gym (never thought I would say that, but its true!) I cant wait to share with you guys my weight loss and pictures in another month as this month has already brought on more of a difference than last!

I know... I know... I know....

By my Aunt Karen's request to keep writing my blogs... here it is....

I'm sorry that I have been horrible with keeping up with this. Its harder than you think!!! Well my ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY of having this blog just passed, which means its picture time... OH BOY!





Hahaa Didn't realize I wasn't smiling for the photos... YIKES!! I'm sure you cant tell a difference in what I looked like before but I have lost some inches on my thighs and waist. Even my arms are smaller than they were.... Coming off slowly... but guess what? ITS COMING OFF!

So we all know that I started out at 225lbs when I started this blog and most of you have kept up with my blogs about my workouts or not working out :( Just over 2 weeks ago I changed my diet completely! With my new diet I consume about 850 calories give or take a day and burn 350 +- at the gym on the elliptical and even more so with my weight lifting. When I stand on the scale it reads =215.4. I have almost lost a total of 10 lbs since starting this blog! It has definitely been nice to see a change on the scale and with clothes!!

I tried something new this past week to see if I noticed any difference in my weight loss. I tried not going to the gym as often because I was afraid that I was burning so much fat with my eating habits that going to the gym I was putting on too much muscle. So after that week was finished I stood on the scale and it made a difference when standing on the scale. I was actually incorrect as I ha vent lost as much weight as I did the week before! So off to the gym to exercise is whats best for me!

When I wake up early and workout it seems that my body functions better during the day. Sure I hate hearing that alarm clock wake me up at 545am still but when I think of how it is benefiting me I jump right out of bed! I have been drinking tons and tons of water and I think that is definitely helping to flush my system. I pee like a million times in a day! (Sorry if that was a TMI!)

Well I may not be keeping up with my blog but I am keeping up with my weight loss! I will be sure to keep you informed! Keep your eye out for a new post soon!

Feeling Good!

Well its been about 4 days that I have been very careful about what I am eating. I hope to see a big change this month from my eating habits alone. I'm drinking tons of water, at the very least eight 8 oz glasses. Yeah I am floating over here... I think today I will have Jason measure me so that I know exactly where the weight is coming off. I am keeping a journal of everything I eat, drink and exercise during the day. I'm also keeping track of my caloric intake. I'm eating less than 1000 calories a day and I'm feeling good. I have a lot of energy from eating the proper foods my body needs. I have been reading about what certain foods can do to your body and how it affects people. I understand how and why some people are obese or overweight. I never knew that some people have a shorter supply of pleasure receptors making it harder for them to enjoy food, which then leads to them overeating to try and stimulate those receptors. For example a person with normal receptors that eats a bowl of ice cream enjoys it to the fullest. However, someone with low receptors doesn't feel any pleasure from one bowl so they go back and get more hoping that they will get pleasure from having more. Thus leading to overeating! AMAZING RIGHT? Yeah I guess I really never heard it explained that way and thought I would share.

We had a great weekend even though it rained pretty much the entire time. We went to the pool on Friday evening and Saturday during the day. Cailey just loves to be in the water! I especially loved how she would watch our friend and I and random kids jump off the diving board and would scream "JUMP!!" from the shallow end! CUTEST KID EVER!! I'm sooooo lucky! So I may not have gone to the gym this weekend but I got a workout in the pool!

Yesterday while Bug was sleeping Jason and I decided to play our game PUNCHOUT for the Wii. I threw some pretty good punches especially since I have been working on my boxing with my Cardio Workouts with the Wii. He still beat me but eh... next time!!

I feel good about my weight loss and I am still trying to get to my goal weight of 210lbs by June 17th but we will see if it happens! That's a stretch but I am keeping faith that I can do it!

Bug or Poisoning?

Well I had to take a break for a couple days because I came down with a stomach bug or food poisoning. I think it was just some bug cause Jason and I eat the same thing so he would have it too if it were poisoning.. So please excuse that I haven't been keeping up with my blog!

Its funny because the past couple of days things have happened that I wanted to share but now they have slipped my mind...

Well I guess I should share this cause it surely made me laugh! (Hopefully it will give my friend Melissa a good chuckle!) Jason and I went grocery shopping yesterday morning with Cailey and when we got there I needed to use the restroom. Well long story short all the freakin bathrooms out here DO NOT provide seat covers for you. So I have been placing toilet paper on the seat to go to the bathroom... I figure its better than nothing right?? Well you see apparently I forgot to check that the toilet paper went in the toilet and I walked around the ENTIRE commissary with a strand of toilet paper hanging out of pants! LMAO!!! BAHAHAAHAHAAAAAA!!! Thank Goodness there was no one in there but us... I'm sure the old Japanese ladies that help you out with your groceries got a good laugh after we left!! Moral of the story check your butt for toilet paper if you had to use that instead of a toilet seat cover. Sadly this is not the first time that I have done this since I have been in Okinawa! Did you get a good laugh??? Good.....

So now that I am no longer ill, I rocked the gym today and the day before. I need to take advice from friends and not stand on the scale everyday! I feel obsessed!! So my new goal is not to check the scale until next Thursday. Good news is that I have lost some weight since starting this blog and I feel good about what I have accomplished! I found some more pictures of me from when I weighed 140 and I was like damn it I want to look like that or better!!

Trust me I am working hard at losing this weight. Just because I don't write on my blog everyday doesn't mean that I'm not working on my weight loss. I hope I am still motivating others to take charge of their health as well!

LONG Weekend....

Hey there!

I'm sure some of you missed me! Well I know Erin missed me cause she wrote asking why I haven't blogged in awhile. Well you see I had the weekend off... HAHA! I think out of the past 4 days I have gone to the gym once. My tummy has been giving me issues and I'm stressing about things. I unfortunately wont be going to the gym tomorrow either due to Jason having to go in to work early. However bright and early Thursday morning I will be heading to the gym!

I still haven't had a drink of soda... as much as I tried at our BBQ with friends... OH BOY I WANTED JUST A SIP!! But the hubby set me straight! So water, milk and Crystal Light have been my BF's this entire time.

My eating habits slipped a little over the weekend but its okay cause I am preparing for a big change coming soon with my eating habits and will not be able to enjoy such foods soon!

TRUST ME! A change small or big will be coming!!! When I take a picture of what I look like after a month of starting this... (which honestly I am not sure when I started this blog)... but once I have typed this out I will check it out... Keep pushing me and supporting me friends because truly it matters a great deal to know I have you supporting my back! SO THANK YOU!!
